STQC CCTV Certificates Expiring Soon: Every ER Certificate by Brand, With Dates (India)
No STQC ER camera certificate expires between 27 Oct 2026 and 30 Apr 2027. Over 12 months, to 27 Oct 2027, seven certificates expire: one Sparsh, two CP Plus and four Prama, covering 20 models. Two Sparsh certificates (18 models) passed their printed expiry date, 5 Sep 2026. Dates as printed on the PDFs; checked 13 Oct 2026.

- STQC, IoTSCS Certified Product List: Essential Requirements (ERs), all 53 certificate PDFs linked from the list page. Downloaded 7 Oct 2026, re-downloaded 13 Oct 2026 for the 10 certificate PDFs cited here (MD5 unchanged); 196 model rows in our dataset.
- The list page re-checked on 13 Oct 2026. It still links the same set of PDFs, including both expired Sparsh certificates.
- STQC per-certificate web pages for ER/001–ER/011 (stqc.gov.in/en/node/1115–1123, read 13 Oct 2026), whose dates differ from the PDFs (see below).
- MeitY, S.O. 1119(E), 6 Mar 2024, para 5, on the validity of the STQC test report (egazette 2024/252738)
- MeitY circular W-18/26/2025-IPHW, 4 Feb 2026 (stqc.gov.in PDF)
- BIS, List of Registrations and models of CCTVs complying with ER for Security (crsbis.in)
- Checked 13 Oct 2026.
- None of the documents we read says what happens to the BIS R-number when the STQC certificate behind it lapses.
Certificates expiring 27 Oct 2026 – 27 Oct 2027
Fewer than three certificates fall inside the six-month window. So the table covers 12 months. Dates are exactly as printed on each certificate PDF.

Already expired at the check date (13 Oct 2026), per the PDFs:
| Brand | Certificate no. | Models | Issued | Valid to | Source PDF |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sparsh | STQC/IoTSCS/ER/001 | 9 fixed (dome, bullet, box, wedge), SC-IL22…/SC-IND22…/SC-IND42… series | 13 Nov 2025 (amended; first issued 23 Aug 2024) | 5 Sep 2026 | ER/001 |

After 27 Oct 2027, the next expiries are four Matrix certificates (ER/016, 024, 025, 026), all printed valid to 3 Mar 2028. The other 40 certificates run to May 2028 or later.
Where brands differ
- Amended certificates keep the old expiry. Sparsh's ER/001, 004 and 005 were re-issued on 13 Nov 2025. The model rows and expiry dates match the August 2024 originals 1:1, so the newer issue date did not extend validity.
- Printed expiry vs three years. S.O. 1119(E) para 5 gives the STQC test report a validity of "three years from the date of issue". The Prama 2024 certificates match this: issued 8 Oct 2024, valid to 7 Oct 2027. Others do not. CP Plus ER/010 and 011 (issued Nov 2024) run to 17 Jul 2027, and Sparsh's 2024 originals run to 5 Sep 2026 and 26 May 2027. The documents give no reason. We use the printed date.
- STQC web pages disagree with the PDFs. STQC also has per-certificate web pages for ER/001 to ER/011 (seen 13 Oct 2026), and every one differs from its PDF. Sparsh ER/001, ER/004 and ER/005 show issue 23 Aug 2024 and expiry 23 Aug 2027 (PDFs: 5 Sep 2026, 26 May 2027). CP Plus ER/010 and ER/011 show expiry 6 and 5 Nov 2027 (PDFs: 17 Jul 2027). Prama ER/006–009 show 8 Oct 2027 (PDFs: 7 Oct 2027). We follow the printed PDFs; the STQC web page shows a different date, so confirm the current date with the vendor or STQC.
What expiry means for a buyer or a tender
Only what the primary texts say:
- Government tenders (PPP-MII). The STQC report is valid "three years from the date of issuance", as stated in the MeitY circular of 4 Feb 2026, which restates S.O. 1119(E). A procuring entity asking for a valid STQC report should not accept one past its date. Since that circular, STQC issues one ER report that serves both the CRO and PPP-MII.
- Private factory buying for itself. It is not a "procuring entity" under PPP-MII. What binds the sale is BIS registration under the CRO. Check the R-number's status and validity on the BIS ER list, not only the STQC date. The full split is in STQC ER vs BIS CRS vs PPO.
- Cameras already installed. None of the documents we read requires removing a camera when its certificate lapses. The orders govern sale and procurement.
How to re-check a certificate
- Note the exact model string with its suffix, e.g.
(D)vs(D1). A sibling model does not count. - Enter it in the CCTV certificate checker. It returns the certificate number and printed expiry from the same dataset.
- Open the STQC ER list. Confirm the PDF is still linked and read the expiry on the PDF itself.
- Look up the BIS R-number on the BIS ER list: status Registered and a validity date in the future. Steps: How to check a BIS R-number.
- For a tender, record the check date on the bid file.
Per-brand lists: Prama, CP Plus. Market-wide counts: certified CCTV market, October 2026.
What breaks in a factory
- Replacement after a surge or lightning. A like-for-like swap in 2027 may be a model whose STQC certificate has lapsed. Check before the purchase order, not after delivery.
- Long rollouts. A phased install that starts before 7 Oct 2027 and finishes after it can span an expiry. Freeze the model list against dates at each phase.
- Firmware updates. Certificates are tied to the tested firmware. A re-issued certificate may name a different build, so record the build you run.
When to call the installer / what to ask the vendor
Ask in writing, per model: the current STQC certificate number and PDF, whether a renewal or re-issue is filed, the BIS R-number and its validity, and the certified firmware version.
An expiry date says nothing about whether the cameras cover the machines that matter. Mama reads a factory's existing cameras over RTSP/ONVIF and tells the owner each morning where machines stood idle. Mama can draw a camera plan for your floor before you renew or replace cameras. FAQ
How long is an STQC certificate for CCTV cameras valid? S.O. 1119(E) and the MeitY circular of 4 Feb 2026 say the STQC test report is valid three years from issue. Several certificate PDFs print an earlier expiry, and STQC's web pages can show another. We follow the printed PDFs; confirm the current date with the vendor or STQC.
What happens when a CCTV camera's STQC certificate expires? For a government tender, the report no longer meets the "valid report" condition. For a private sale, check the BIS R-number status; the documents we read do not link STQC expiry to the R-number. Installed cameras are not covered by any removal rule we found.
How do I check if an STQC certificate is still valid? Open the certificate PDF from STQC's ER list and read the "valid up to" date, or use the certificate checker. Then confirm the BIS R-number on the BIS ER list.
