India's Certified CCTV Market, October 2026: What 2,215 STQC and BIS Entries Show
As of 16 Oct 2026, new CCTV cameras in India enter the market through BIS, not STQC. The BIS CRS list carries 2,019 camera model entries, 927 of them in its security-ER column. STQC's network-camera list has stayed at 196 models on 53 certificates; its newest certificate is dated 7 Jan 2026.
Last checked: 16 Oct 2026. By the Mama Editorial Team. Every count below is ours, read row by row from the official lists and vendor documents. Nobody tested a camera.
Explore the data yourself: every listing behind these numbers — brand, registrant, validity date, datasheet specs and the partners, vendor offices and service centres near a state or industrial cluster — is filterable in the CCTV India Navigator.
Verified against
- STQC, IoTSCS ER certified product list and its 53 certificate PDFs; IoTSCS scheme notice. Re-checked 16 Oct 2026.
- BIS CRS, List of Registrations and models of CCTVs complying with ER for Security, 83 R-numbers. Re-checked 16 Oct 2026.
- Official vendor datasheets of the 196 STQC models (found for 178), 16 Oct 2026.
- ONVIF conformant products, 7 Oct 2026.
- Partner, dealer and office lists on the websites of eight vendors, 16 Oct 2026.
Key findings
- The STQC list is frozen. STQC says its network-camera list "is no longer being updated", after MeitY circular W-18/26/2025-IPHW of 4 Feb 2026. BIS holds 2,019 entries against STQC's 196 models (16 Oct 2026).
- 1,847 of 2,019 BIS entries sit on a Registered R-number. All 172 others are analogue-column models; every security-ER entry is Registered.
- 47 brands, fewer makers. The 47 brands on the lists come from 37 registrants that print a brand. Six registrants hold several brands each.
- 727 entries reach their printed validity date before 16 Oct 2027, and 126 are already past it, none of them in the BIS security-ER column.
- Built for heat: of 178 STQC models with an official datasheet, 171 are rated to 60 °C or more and 173 to IP66 or higher.
- 162 of 196 STQC models have an ONVIF conformant listing with Profile S (checked 7 Oct 2026).
- Hosur and Tiruppur have no video-line partner and no vendor office in any of the eight vendor lists we read (16 Oct 2026).
Finding 1: new cameras now enter through BIS
STQC's IoTSCS page states that the list for network cameras "is no longer being updated and is retained solely for historical reference" (stqc.gov.in, re-read 16 Oct 2026). Since MeitY's circular of 4 Feb 2026, STQC issues its ER test report under the BIS Compulsory Registration Order instead (how the routes differ).
| List (16 Oct 2026) | Entries | Documents | Brands printed | Newest addition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| STQC IoTSCS ER | 196 models | 53 certificates | 7 | Certificate of 7 Jan 2026 |
| BIS CRS, security-ER column | 927 | 57 R-numbers | 47 | 13 models added by 16 Oct 2026 |
| BIS CRS, analogue column | 1,092 | 32 R-numbers | 6 | No change since 9 Oct 2026 |

Between 9 and 16 Oct 2026 BIS added 13 models (Securus 10, Hi-Focus 2, Vivotek 1) and STQC added none. The certification changelog tracks each change.
Finding 2: the brand on the box is not always the registrant
Of 56 manufacturers on the BIS list, 35 hold security-ER models (full registrant table). One registration holder often carries several brands.
| Registrant (as printed) | Brands on its entries | Entries |
|---|---|---|
| Ail Dixon Technologies | CP Plus, Nexivue, Norden, Qubo | 295 |
| Prama India | Prama, Secureye, iDADA | 230 |
| Matrix Comsec | Matrix, Prizor, NEOS, Ganz, Panasonic | 143 |
| Warner Electronics India | Godrej, Trueview and 5 more | 59 |
| VVDN Technologies | Honeywell, Illustra, Norden, EQUUS, Jio, Vyonix | 35 |
| Vivotek Inc. | Vivotek, March Networks | 20 |
Source: BIS CRS ER list and STQC certificates, 16 Oct 2026. Prama Hikvision India holds 376 entries, all analogue cameras on one Registered R-number, with no brand printed. In the security-ER column, BIS's "Country" field reads India for 805 of 927 entries; it names the manufacturer's country, not the brand's.
Finding 3: one in three entries reaches its date within a year
| Printed validity (as of 16 Oct 2026) | BIS security-ER | BIS analogue | STQC | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Already past | 0 | 108 | 18 | 126 |
| Before 16 Oct 2027 | 391 | 316 | 20 | 727 |
| Later | 536 | 668 | 158 | 1,362 |
The 391 security-ER entries sit on 16 R-numbers; the first are March Networks R-41240982 (17 Nov 2026) and Qubo R-66001546 (19 Nov 2026). The 18 past-date STQC models are Sparsh ER/001 and ER/004 (5 Sep 2026 on the PDFs). All 18 are also on BIS R-83005371, Registered to 24 Jun 2028. A model can be lapsed on one list and current on the other. Check a model or read the six-month expiry list.
Finding 4: the STQC cameras are rated for Indian heat
| Datasheet spec (178 STQC models with an official datasheet) | Models |
|---|---|
| Max operating temperature 60 °C or more | 171 |
| Max operating temperature 70 °C | 36 |
| IP66, IP67 or IP68 | 173 |
| Both 60 °C+ and IP66+ | 166 |
| IK10 printed | 120 |
| PoE | 175 |
Source: vendor datasheets, 16 Oct 2026. The seven below 60 °C: six models rated to 50–55 °C (four CP Plus, two Vicon) and one Prama datasheet that prints no temperature. The five without an IP rating are indoor box cameras. What IP66 and IK10 mean in a plant: IP and IK ratings.
Finding 5: most certified cameras are listed with ONVIF
| Brand | STQC models | With ONVIF listing |
|---|---|---|
| Prama | 58 | 56 |
| CP Plus | 45 | 34 |
| Sparsh | 43 | 35 |
| Matrix | 36 | 26 |
| Honeywell | 9 | 7 |
| Vicon | 3 | 3 |
| EQUUS | 2 | 1 |
| Total | 196 | 162 |
Source: ONVIF conformant products, exact model string, checked 7 Oct 2026. All 162 listings include Profile S, 161 Profile T, 134 Profile G and 105 Profile M. The other 34 were not found in ONVIF's database under their exact model string. Details: ONVIF listing gap, ONVIF/RTSP matrix.
Finding 6: installer coverage is thin outside the big metros
| Cluster | Partners | Vendor offices |
|---|---|---|
| Chennai/Sriperumbudur | 35 | 5 |
| Bengaluru | 28 | 8 |
| Pune | 24 | 4 |
| Ahmedabad | 20 | 3 |
| Surat | 15 | 0 |
| Vapi, Coimbatore | 4 each | 0, 1 |
| Gurugram/Manesar, Rajkot, Aurangabad | 3 each | 1, 0, 0 |
| Noida, Ludhiana | 2 each | 2, 0 |
| Faridabad | 0 | 1 |
| Hosur, Tiruppur | 0 | 0 |
Source: partner and office lists published by Bosch, CP Plus, Godrej, Hi-Focus, Honeywell, Matrix, Prama and Sparsh, read 16 Oct 2026. Matrix supplies 118 of the 143 cluster partners, from its locator as of Aug 2024. Godrej counts only stores listed for CCTV and home security. Honeywell's offices serve all Building Technologies lines. The nearest coverage to Hosur is Bengaluru.
What this means if you are buying cameras for a factory
- Ask for the BIS R-number, not only an STQC certificate. New models appear only on BIS. Confirm the exact model string and status with the Certified CCTV Finder or an R-number check.
- Check the date. If the registration ends within your installation period, ask the vendor in writing about renewal.
- Read the brand and the registrant. The quotation shows the brand; BIS shows who registered it.
- Ask for the datasheet of the exact model with suffix: temperature, IP and IK for hot or dusty bays.
- Ask for the ONVIF listing if your recorder or software is from another brand.
- In Hosur, Tiruppur or similar towns, ask who services the cameras locally before you choose a brand (choosing an installer).
Cameras on the shop floor can also show where machines stand idle, and that downtime has a cost you can measure.
Methodology
- Registries: STQC IoTSCS ER list and all 53 certificate PDFs; BIS CRS "List of Registrations and models of CCTVs complying with ER for Security", 83 R-numbers. Both re-checked 16 Oct 2026.
- Counting: one entry = one model string on one certificate or R-number, as printed. 27 rows from 2024 Sparsh certificates replaced in Nov 2025 are excluded. Dates are compared with 16 Oct 2026.
- Specs: temperature, IP, IK and PoE come only from official datasheets of the exact model, so they cover STQC models only (178 of 196; none found for 18).
- ONVIF: onvif.org conformant-products database, exact model string, 7 Oct 2026.
- Partners: only what vendors publish on their own sites. CP Plus's service-centre locator was not part of this count. Hi-Focus and Sparsh publish offices, not partner lists.
- Navigator: every listing counted here, with its registrant, validity date and the support listed near a state or industrial cluster, can be filtered in the CCTV India Navigator, live since 16 Oct 2026.
- Limits: BIS prints no issue dates and no camera type in the security-ER column. Mama does not publish the dataset as a file; the tools above query it.
Mama reads a factory's existing cameras over RTSP/ONVIF and tells the owner each morning where machines stood idle. Leave an email or phone in the form below.
