Prama STQC-Certified Cameras: All 58 Models, Certificate Numbers and Expiry Dates
Prama holds 27 STQC IoTSCS Essential Requirements certificates covering 58 camera models, issued between 8 Oct 2024 and 24 Nov 2025. None has expired: the earliest lapse on 7 Oct 2027. Nine certificates (ER/058–066) carry an End-of-Life-library review condition, and STQC no longer updates its network-camera list.
Verified against
- STQC, IoT System Certification Scheme (IoTSCS) – Certified Product list as per the Essential Requirements (ERs): 54 PDF links on the page, 17 with "Prama" in the file name. The other ten (ER/072–077, ER/100–103) are listed under Prama in the page's Vendor column and print the Prama name on the certificate itself.
- The 27 Prama certificate PDFs linked in the table below. Each was downloaded on 7 Oct 2026 and its MD5 hash recorded; three were downloaded again on re-check and matched.
- STQC, second page with the same title (URL ending
-iotscs-0): it carries the registry-status notices quoted below. It was re-read live on 7 Oct 2026. - Checked 7 Oct 2026.
- Not verified: whether Prama completed the End-of-Life-library review on ER/058–066, since the PDFs don't say. Also not verified: firmware versions beyond what each certificate prints, any Prama registration in BIS CRS, and Prama datasheets. This page lists only what the certificates print.
Registry status: the list is frozen for network cameras
STQC publishes a second page under the same title as the ER list (URL ending -iotscs-0), and that page carries two notices. The first cites MeitY's circular: "In reference to Para 4 of Circular issued by IPHW Division, MeitY vide No. W-18/26/2025-IPHW dated 04.02.2026 … henceforth, STQC will issue the test report for Security as per the Essential Requirements (ERs) under CRO which would be applicable for compliance to PPP-MII." The page adds that these security certifications have "no linkages with the value additions requirement for the PPP-MII".
The second notice follows directly after it: "The Product certified list pertaining to PPO certification of Network Camera(s) is no longer being updated and is retained solely for historical reference."
The notices appear only on that -iotscs-0 page. The version of the page that links the certificate PDFs shows no status banner. In practice:
- A Prama certificate in this list is still a valid historical record until its printed expiry.
- A Prama model that is missing from the list is not proof of non-compliance. New network cameras now go through STQC test reports under CRO, which this list no longer collects.
- For current registration, check the BIS route as well. Our guide on how to check a BIS registration number for CCTV covers it.

What the notes mean.
- EOL-library review condition. All 21 models on ER/058–066 carry this printed condition: the camera model "has to undergo review to identify addressing of End of Life libraries currently used in the product within six months of STQC letter vide letter no. STQC/IT&E-Gov/2025/01 dated 23.04.2025". That window closed around October 2025. The certificate cannot tell you whether the review was done, so ask Prama or the distributor for STQC's closure letter.
- No Brand Name field. The 2024 certificates (ER/006–009) name only the OEM, "M/s Prama India Private Limited". ER/058–066 also name the OEM. ER/072–077 and ER/100–107 print "Brand Name: Prama" or "PRAMA".
- Spelling traps. ER/064's suffix is (D2E), not (D2). ER/007's annex prints the model with a stray space. Most strings contain the digit 0 (for example PT-NC580P0-AP(D)). These were read from scanned images, and another brand's certificate in the same list prints a letter O where a zero is expected. If a tender match hinges on one character, compare it against the PDF yourself.
- "Not productionize sample". STQC printed this note on some other brands' certificates. It was not found on any Prama certificate.
Where brands differ
| In the same STQC ER list (53 certificates, 196 models) | Models |
|---|---|
| Prama | 58 |
| CP Plus | 45 |
| Sparsh | 43 |
| Matrix | 36 |
| Honeywell | 9 |
| Vicon | 3 |
| EQUUS | 2 |
- Prama vs Hikvision. No certificate in this list carries a Hikvision brand or OEM name. For network setup on Prama hardware, see the Prama/Hikvision RTSP and ONVIF setup page.
- Prama vs Sparsh. Two Sparsh certificates, ER/001 and ER/004, show a printed expiry of 5 Sept 2026, so they have already lapsed. No Prama certificate lapses before 7 Oct 2027.
- Prama vs CP Plus. Some CP Plus certificates carry the "not productionize sample" note; Prama's do not. Both brands have certificates with the EOL-library condition. Model-by-model detail is on the CP Plus STQC-certified cameras page.
- Cross-brand shortlist. For all brands on one factory shortlist, see STQC-certified CCTV cameras for factories.
What breaks in a factory
The certificate shows that one model, in the version STQC evaluated, met the security Essential Requirements on the issue date. It does not prove any of the following:
- The installation. Default passwords, cameras exposed to the internet through port forwarding, and a flat network shared with office PCs all remain the installer's problem. A certified camera on an unmanaged switch in a dusty panel room is still an open door.
- Later firmware. Each certificate records the "Product Name, Model & Version" it evaluated. A firmware update flashed during commissioning or after a breakdown is not covered by this document.
- The recorder. Camera certificates do not cover your NVR. See do NVRs and DVRs need STQC/BIS certification.
- The suffix on the box. A
(D2)and a(D2E)variant, or a-Nand a-WNMvariant, are separate strings on separate rows. A substitution on site can quietly drop you off the list. - Plant conditions. A security certificate makes no claim about heat, dust, 50 Hz LED flicker or long cable runs. Those come from the datasheet and good site practice.
When to call the installer / what to ask the vendor
- Ask for the certificate number and check that the exact model string, suffix included, appears in that PDF.
- For any ER/058–066 model, ask for written evidence that the End-of-Life-library review was closed.
- Ask which firmware version ships on the unit and whether it matches the version the certificate records.
- If a model isn't in this list, ask for its CRO-route STQC test report or BIS registration instead.
Where Mama fits
Mama reads a factory's existing cameras over RTSP/ONVIF, certified or not, and tells the owner where machines sat idle. It doesn't replace any of the compliance checks above. Leave an email or phone in the form below.
FAQ
Is Prama STQC certified? Yes, for specific models only. 58 Prama models appear on 27 STQC IoTSCS ER certificates. Certification is per model string, not per brand.
How long is a Prama STQC certificate valid? Three years from the issue date, as printed on each certificate. The four 2024 certificates (ER/006–009) are valid to 7 Oct 2027. Those issued from September to November 2025 run to dates between 9 Sept 2028 and 23 Nov 2028.
My Prama model is not on the STQC list. Is it non-compliant? Not necessarily. STQC states that the network-camera list "is no longer being updated", and new security test reports are issued under CRO. Ask for that report or a BIS registration.
