STQC-Certified CCTV Cameras for Factories (India, Checked Sep 2026)

The table below lists 40 PoE IP cameras from four brands (Prama, CP Plus, Matrix and Honeywell). We found each model by name in a STQC Essential Requirements (ER) certificate on stqc.gov.in and checked its specs on the maker's own datasheet on 29 September 2026. Those 40 models sit on 18 certificates, and every certificate is valid until at least March 2028. To check a model yourself, open the certificate PDF linked in its row and find the exact model string, suffix included. Then search the same model on the BIS CRS portal (crsbis.in) for its R-number.

One thing to know before you use any "STQC list": STQC's page for network cameras now carries a notice that the list "is no longer being updated and is retained solely for historical reference". The same page cites a MeitY circular dated 04.02.2026. Since then, STQC issues its security test report under the Compulsory Registration Order, which is the BIS registration route, instead of as a separate certificate. So certificates already on the STQC list still carry their printed expiry dates, but any camera certified after January 2026 will show up on BIS CRS, not on the STQC page. That is why this list can only grow if we check both registers every month.

How to use this list

Filter the "Suggested zone" column by the part of your floor you are planning. We base each tag on the datasheet, using a written rule, not a judgement of image quality:

• line: dome, turret or motorised-varifocal models. Mounted over a machine or conveyor, these let you frame the work area tightly. Use 4 MP and above where you need to read gauges or count parts.
• dust: IP67-rated models with a dome or turret body. Dust cannot get in, and the smooth front is easy to wipe in lint, flour, cement or grinding dust. Models that also list IK10 are impact-rated, which matters in forklift aisles.
• night: IR reach of 50 m or more, or a dual-light / warm-light model that can switch to colour at night. Use this for the third shift, unlit yards and stores.
• gate: bullets with 50 m or more of IR, and preferably a motorised varifocal lens, for the main gate, the weighbridge and the loading bay. For number plates you still need a dedicated ANPR camera. None in this table is sold as ANPR.
• heat: not tagged per row. Every model here is rated to a maximum of +60 °C operating temperature on its datasheet. In a furnace bay, forging shop or tin-roof shed, measure the air temperature at the mounting point in May before you buy. If it goes above 60 °C, no camera in this table is rated for that spot without a cooled housing.

Two practical notes from the certificates themselves:

• The suffix matters. A certificate covers the exact string it prints. Matrix, for example, certified the "P2" variants (such as "SATATYA CIBR50FL40CWP P2"), and Prama certified the "(D2)" variants. A quote that drops the suffix is a different product until proved otherwise.
• Firmware matters too. Each certificate says it "applies only to specific version and release of the product in its evaluated configuration", and the annexure lists the firmware version tested. When the cameras arrive, ask the installer to show that the firmware is the certified release or a later one approved by the maker.

The list: 40 certified factory cameras

"Valid until" is the expiry date printed on the STQC certificate. Click the model name for the manufacturer's datasheet, and the certificate number for the PDF on stqc.gov.in.

A few things the table shows at a glance:

• Prama has the most rows because its certificates list models one by one. We read 8 of its 26 certificates.
• CP Plus "LQ" models list RTSPS (encrypted RTSP) in the datasheet protocol line. Most NVRs and video-analytics tools accept it, but ask your integrator to confirm on the recorder you already own.
• Honeywell's 50 Series lists ONVIF Profile M alongside S, G and T. Profile M carries analytics metadata, which matters if you plan to add AI later.
• Power: all rows run on standard 802.3af PoE, except the two Prama motorised bullets (PT-NC346P3 and PT-NC326P3). Their datasheets specify 802.3at (PoE+), so size your switch for them.

How we check

1. Certificate first. We download every network-camera certificate PDF linked from STQC's IoTSCS Essential Requirements list: 53 certificates on 29 September 2026. We read the model table in each annexure. A model enters the table only if its exact string appears on a certificate, and we record the certificate number and the printed expiry date.
2. Datasheet second. For IP rating, IR range, RTSP/ONVIF and PoE we use only the manufacturer's own product page or datasheet PDF. We don't use dealer listings, marketplace pages or reseller PDFs. For Matrix, the IP and IR figures come from the series page, which gives one spec for all fixed-lens variants in the series.
3. Nothing from secondary sources. Dealer "STQC lists", including the widely copied 196-model count, only tell us where to look. If we can't confirm a row at the source, it stays out of the table.
4. Monthly re-check. On the first working week of each month we re-download the STQC list for every brand in the table. We compare it against last month, re-check any certificate within six months of expiry, and update the "Checked on" date. A row that has gone more than 60 days without a check comes out of the table until it is re-checked.

What this list is not

• It is not a ranking. Rows are grouped by brand and certificate, not by quality. There are no scores and no top pick.
• It is not an image-quality test. A certificate tells you the camera passed India's cybersecurity Essential Requirements (no default passwords, encrypted streams, signed firmware and so on). It says nothing about how the picture looks in your lint-heavy weaving hall at 2 a.m.
• It is not complete. STQC holds 53 network-camera certificates covering far more models than the 40 here. We add rows only as fast as we can check them.
• It is not a reason to rip out working cameras. The certification rule applies to cameras sold, manufactured or imported from 1 April 2026. Cameras already running on your floor can stay. How to verify a model yourself

It takes about five minutes per model, on two government portals:

1. STQC (security, ER certificate). Go to stqc.gov.in, then IT & e-Governance → IT System & Product Certification → IoT System Certification Scheme. Press the "Archive" button under the notice to open the Essential Requirements certified product list. Open the certificate PDF for your brand and look for your exact model string, suffix included, in the annexure. Note the certificate expiry date. For cameras certified after January 2026, expect to find them on BIS CRS rather than on this list.
2. BIS CRS (safety registration, R-number). Go to crsbis.in and use "Search by R-number" (the same form also searches by brand and model). Check that the status is valid and that your model is within the registration's scope. The R-number is also printed on the camera label under the BIS Standard Mark, next to "IS 13252 (Part 1)".

If the model on the installer's quote is not in either place under its exact name, ask for the certificate and the R-number in writing before you pay.
