Matrix vs CP Plus for Indian Factories: Warranty Clock on Delayed Projects, Certified Models and ONVIF
On an Indian factory project, the number that separates Matrix from CP Plus is how much warranty is left when the cameras finally go up. Matrix gives 14 months from invoice or 12 from installation, whichever is earlier. CP Plus gives 24 months from invoice, carry-in, with freight to the service centre on the customer. On a plant where cameras sit 4–6 months in the store before install, a Matrix camera reaches handover with 8–10 months of cover and a CP Plus camera with 18–20.

Warranty clock and claim costs
Both clocks start at the invoice, not at commissioning. Matrix's 12-months-from-installation leg only helps if installation happens within two months of the invoice; after that the 14-month cap decides. CP Plus has no installation leg, so every month in the store comes straight off its 24.
| Install delay after invoice (months) | Matrix: cover left at handover (months) | CP Plus: cover left at handover (months) |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 12 (installation leg ends first) | 24 |
| 3 | 11 (ends at month 14 from invoice) | 21 |
| 6 | 8 (ends at month 14 from invoice) | 18 |
Worked from the Matrix Warranty page (snapshot 16 May 2026) and CP Plus Service Warranty Policy SVC24_1. One Matrix policy covers cameras and NVRs; CP Plus's 24 months carry-in applies to both too. Freight is on the buyer with either brand: Matrix asks for the product to be returned prepaid, with transit risk on the purchaser; CP Plus wants it couriered to the nearest service centre "on a freight paid basis by the customer", with transit risk both ways on the customer. Each claim therefore costs a courier fare plus the days the camera is off the wall, and CP Plus also lists onsite service as "Chargeable". Budget a spare camera per line rather than waiting out a round trip.
Exclusions and site conditions to plan for:
- Surges and dirty power. Matrix excludes "lightning, power surges, 'dirty' power". CP Plus excludes "damage of the circuit due to high voltage". A burnt board from a DG changeover is on the plant, so fit surge protection and a UPS.
- Power adapters. CP Plus excludes "All accessories including power adapters".
- Heat and flicker. Matrix's NVRXS is rated to +45 °C and NVRX to +50 °C against −10 to +55 °C for the CP-UNR-4K2161-V2, and an unventilated panel room in May can pass 45 °C; under high-bay LEDs set anti-flicker to 50 Hz on either brand.

Where brands differ
Product range. CP Plus's site lists network cameras, NVRs, analog HD cameras, DVRs, PTZs, body-worn cameras, PoE switches, storage, AI edge boxes and home products (About, checked 14 Oct 2026). Matrix's product menu lists network cameras, NVRs and a PTZ controller under video surveillance, plus time-attendance and telecom (site menu, snapshot 12 Jul 2026). The menu has no analog camera or DVR category, and Matrix's BIS analog column is empty. A plant keeping old coaxial cameras on a DVR has a like-for-like CP Plus path; with Matrix it moves to IP.
Manufacturing claims. Matrix states its products are "entirely conceived, designed, and manufactured within India" and that its R&D and manufacturing is recognised by DSIR (Make in India page, snapshot 17 May 2026). CP Plus states a Kadapa plant, run by Ail Dixon, wholly owned by CP Plus owner Aditya Infotech since 18 Sep 2024. Aditya Infotech's Indian promoters held 74.71% and foreign promoters 0% at 30 Jun 2026, and no shareholder is named Dahua (shareholding pattern). Its China link is commercial: it has been Dahua's exclusive distributor in India since 2023, and Dahua-supplied products were 24.65% of FY2025 revenue (RHP, 23 Jul 2025). CARE Ratings' rationale (7 Apr 2026) says "The company imports ~40%-50% of its products from Dahua". CARE does not split that share between CP Plus-branded and Dahua-branded goods. Neither statement tells you where a specific model was built. The lineage question is covered in Is CP Plus a Chinese company?.
Who else they build for. On the BIS list read 14 Oct 2026, Matrix Comsec is also the registrant for PRIZOR, NEOS, GANZ and PANASONIC-brand models. Ail Dixon Technologies, the CP Plus registrant, also registers Qubo, NEXIVUE and NORDEN. A different label on the box can come from the same plant; the full map is in who makes India's certified CCTV cameras.
Certificate caveats. All four Matrix certificates dated 4 Mar 2025 (23 models) print that the tested sample was "not productionize". CP Plus ER/010 and ER/011 (5 models) carry the same note. Both brands also have certificates that require an End-of-Life-library review. Model-by-model detail: Matrix STQC list and CP Plus STQC list.
ONVIF and RTSP. Matrix datasheets claim ONVIF S, G and T. The 8MP mini-dome page says "Both S and G" in one row and "ONVIF S, G, T" in another. The 10 unlisted Matrix models are mini bullets and mini domes ending " P2"; onvif.org lists codes without " P2" from 2023. CP Plus documents RTSP paths per series; Matrix documents /main, /sub, /third on port 554 only in a PTZ manual (RTSP cheat sheet).
Recorders. Matrix's NVR page says it accepts "Cameras with ONVIF 2.0 and above", lists up to 8 SATA bays at 18 TB each and RAID 0/1/5/10 on larger models. The CP-UNR-4K2161-V2 lists ONVIF 2.4, 160 Mbps incoming and one SATA bay up to 6 TB. These are different classes of recorder.
When to call the installer / what to ask the vendor
If cameras will be stored before install, ask the vendor to invoice closer to the install date, or to put a warranty start date from commissioning in writing. Ask for the STQC certificate number and BIS R-number for the exact model string on the quote. Ask for the RTSP path and ONVIF profile on the shipping firmware. Ask whether onsite service is included, because CP Plus lists it as chargeable. For Matrix, ask whether a project order gets a longer warranty in writing.
Mama reads a factory's existing cameras of either brand over RTSP/ONVIF and tells the owner how long each machine sat idle. Leave an email or phone in the form below.
FAQ
Which is better, CP Plus or Matrix? Neither is better on paper for every plant. CP Plus had more certified models, an analog/DVR line and a longer standard warranty as of 14 Oct 2026. Matrix makes IP-only products and states its design and manufacturing is entirely Indian. Pick on the exact models, recorder and service terms you need.
