Who makes a "Bosch" camera now
The box says Bosch, but the business has changed hands. Bosch sold its security and communications product business to the investment firm Triton, and the sale completed on 30 Jun 2025, per KEENFINITY's press release. The new company is KEENFINITY Group.
The video unit now publishes as IQSIGHT, "Formerly Bosch Video Systems", per iqsight.com. The same press release states that the symbol and the BOSCH logotype are registered trademarks of Robert Bosch GmbH.
BIS still prints the manufacturer as "Bosch Security Systems" (Portugal) and "Chicony Electronics (Thailand)", both with brand BOSCH. Neither manufacturer registers any other CCTV brand on the list (checked 14 Oct 2026).

How to read a Bosch model number
| Part of the string | Meaning | Example (IQSIGHT page title) |
|---|---|---|
| Letters 2–3: BE / BI / DE / DI / DD / DP / DS / UE / UV | Bullet / box / outdoor dome / indoor dome / dual dome / PTZ / panoramic / outdoor micro dome / indoor micro dome | NDS-5703-F360 = "Fixed dome 6MP 360º" |
| 1st digit 3 / 5 / 7 | 3100i / 5100i / 7100i or 7100s family | NBE-3702-AL = DINION 3100i IR |
| Last digit | Resolution step: 2 = 2 MP (2×3 MP on the dual dome); 3 = 4, 5 or 6 MP; 4 = 8 or 12 MP | NBE-7703-ALX = "Bullet 4MP" |
| L | Built-in IR | NDI-3702-AL "IR" vs NDI-3702-A |
| X / T | HDR X / telephoto lens | NBE-7702-ALXT = "10.5-47mm" |
| S after digits | GenAI+ variant | NBI-7803S-AX = "4MP … GenAI+" |
| F02 / F04 / F06 | Lens field of view | NUV-3702-F02 = 137°, F06 = 58° |
| Z40 / Z12 | Optical zoom | NDP-7802-Z40 = "PTZ 2MP HDR 40x" |
| H / -IO | HDMI out / alarm I/O | NUV-3703-F02H "HDMI" |
Mama derived these rules by comparing the 45 vendor product pages (14 Oct 2026). They are not an official Bosch naming guide, so check each model's own page.
Suffixes matter. iqsight.com lists NUE-3703-F04, NBE-3702-AL-GOV and NDI-3702-A-IO, but none of these strings is on the BIS list (checked 14 Oct 2026).
STQC and ONVIF: where Bosch differs from Indian brands
No Bosch, KEENFINITY, IQSIGHT or Chicony entity appears on STQC's ER certificate list, which was last updated 13 Oct 2026. The list's issuers are Indian firms such as Samriddhi (Sparsh), Prama, Aditya Infotech (CP Plus) and Matrix. A Bosch buyer therefore relies on the BIS letter and list, not on an STQC certificate.
ONVIF lists Bosch cameras under the company "IQSIGHT" by family and resolution, not by exact model string. For example, "Bosch DINION 7100i IR - 2MP" was tested on firmware 09.82.0022 on 13 May 2026 with Profiles G, M, S and T. On 14 Oct 2026, 44 of the 46 models had a listing matching their family and resolution, all with Profiles G, M, S and T. NDP-7802-Z40L matched only an untitled "AUTODOME 7100i IR" listing (firmware 8.94.0041). NTP-7803-Z30LW matched none. These are family-level matches, not ONVIF listings of each exact model string.
Bosch's RTSP note gives the live stream as rtsp://<camera-ip>/?inst=1, with inst=2 for the second encoder stream (Keenfinity knowledge base).

What it means for procurement
| Buyer | What the BIS list supports (14 Oct 2026) |
|---|---|
| Private factory | Any of the 46 listed models can be sold to you; the exact string must match |
| Government, PSU or CPSU tender | BIS registration does not settle local content. Only Class-I and Class-II local suppliers may bid unless the tender is a global enquiry (DPIIT order, para 3(b)). Ask the bidder for its local-content self-certificate |
| Purchase under ₹5 lakh | Exempt from the Make in India order, if not split (DPIIT order, para 4) |
The BIS list shows only factories in Portugal and Thailand, and it carries no local-content figure. Whether a Bosch bid qualifies as Class-I or Class-II depends on the bidder's declaration. The STQC ER vs BIS CRS vs PPO explainer sets out the three regimes.
What breaks in a factory
- Heat. IQSIGHT rates the FLEXIDOME panoramic 5100i (NDS-5703-F360) to 45 °C and the 3100i outdoor domes to 50 °C. The DINION 7100i IR is rated to 60 °C. Under a sheet-metal roof in May, pick by the rated maximum.
- Firmware drift. ONVIF results are tied to a firmware version. Record the build before updating.
- Dealer substitution. A swap from F04 to F02, or a "-GOV" variant, changes the string. A different string may not be on the list.
When to call the installer / what to ask the vendor
Ask in writing for the exact model string, the R-number, the BIS letter listing that model, and the firmware version. For a public tender, also ask for the Class-I or Class-II declaration. The lookup steps are in how to check a BIS R-number. You can also paste a model into the CCTV certificate checker. Other brands are in the BIS-registered brands A–Z, and a single-R-number Indian maker is profiled in the Hi-Focus page. Contract makers such as Chicony, and the brands each registrant carries, are mapped in who makes India's certified CCTV cameras.
Whatever the brand, Mama reads existing cameras over RTSP/ONVIF and tells the owner where machine hours went idle. Leave an email or phone in the form below.
