Is Hi-Focus BIS Certified? All 62 Registered Camera Models, One R-Number, STQC and ONVIF Status (Oct 2026)

By The Mama Editorial Team · Factory-floor cameras, India compliance & operations

Yes. As of 14 Oct 2026, BIS's list of CCTV cameras complying with the security Essential Requirements (ER) shows one Hi-Focus registration, R-61006165, held by HIFOCUS ELECTRONICS INDIA PVT LTD, Chennai. It is "Registered", runs to 22 Jul 2027 and covers 62 IP camera models. None of the 62 is on STQC's ER certificate list.

Other brands on this list from the same manufacturer (count) 0
Models also on STQC ER certificates (count) 0
Models with an exact ONVIF listing (count) 14

The BIS list prints the brand as "HIFOCUS", not "Hi-Focus". Search the Finder or the BIS page with both spellings.

ONVIF's company record for Hifocus gives a Chennai address on Sunguvar Street, Chintadripet, and the company type "Video-related device manufacturer" (queried 14 Oct 2026). Hi-Focus's About page claims "in-house manufacturing". The public records do not show where components or modules come from.

The 62 models by series

Counts come from the BIS model strings (checked 14 Oct 2026). Form factor and resolution come from Hi-Focus product pages, so they are filled only where a page exists.

Series (prefix) BIS models (count) With Hi-Focus product page (count) Exact ONVIF listing (count) Type per Hi-Focus pages
HIPC-T4… 25 14 4 Bullet (one exception, below)
HIPC-D3… 19 11 6 Dome
HC-IPC-DI… 4 2 2 Vandal dome, varifocal
HC-IPC-TI43… 4 2 2 Vandal bullet, varifocal
HC-IPC-TI73… 2 0 0 Not on site
HIPC-S5… 3 0 0 Not on site
HIPC-L5… 2 0 0 Not on site
HIPC-P7… 2 0 0 Not on site
HIPC-R5… 1 0 0 Not on site
Total 62 29 14

One string is printed oddly. BIS lists "HC-IPCTI7315DVZXK-X-N8-O (5MP)" without the hyphen after IPC. Ask the dealer to match the label against the register exactly.

How to read a Hi-Focus model number

Every rule below is checked against Hi-Focus's own spec pages on hifocuscctv.com (29 pages, re-read 14 Oct 2026). Hi-Focus publishes no decoding key, so these are patterns, not definitions.

Code element Pattern on Hi-Focus pages Pages that fit (count) Exceptions Example source
HIPC- / HC-IPC- IP (network) camera 29 of 29 None D3022-DL-I2
D after HIPC- Dome 11 of 11 None D3115-DLS-I2
T after HIPC- Bullet 13 of 14 HIPC-T4402E-DL-I3 is titled "2 MP DOME" T4402E-DL-I3
Last digit of the 4-digit block (2 / 4 / 5) Megapixels (2 / 4 / 5 MP) 28 of 29 HIPC-T4512-ADLS-I2: title "2 MP", spec 4MP, 2560×1440 T4512-ADLS-I2
DI / TI in HC-IPC models Dome / bullet 4 of 4 None TI4315DVZK

The four DVZK pages show a 2.7–13.5 mm motorised varifocal ("MVF") lens. Their DVK twins have no page, so no Hi-Focus document says which letter marks the lens. Final digit 3 (D3313, T4403, T4503 and others) appears on no product page, so its meaning is unknown. The R1 pages print a 1/3" sensor at 2560×1440 @25fps; that describes those pages, not a decoded meaning.

STQC and ONVIF: where Hi-Focus differs from the big four

STQC. On 14 Oct 2026 the STQC ER list carried certificates from Prama, CP Plus (Aditya Infotech), Sparsh (Samriddhi), Matrix, Honeywell, Vicon and EQUUS. Hi-Focus was not found on it. CP Plus and Prama models, by contrast, appear on both the BIS list and the STQC list. Since MeitY's circular of 4 Feb 2026, STQC issues ER test reports under the CRO, and no such reports were found published on stqc.gov.in (explained here). So Hi-Focus's absence from the STQC list does not prove it has no test report. Every Hi-Focus product page we read with a certification line lists "STQC approved compliance report" and "BIS-ER-01" but gives no report number.

ONVIF. All 14 exact listings were tested between 2 Mar and 30 Jun 2026 on firmware V24.12.260228.C2C3B7C5, and each declares Profiles G, M, S and T (ONVIF database, queried 14 Oct 2026). Product pages are less consistent:

T4512-ADLS is still listed with G, M, S and T. Trust the ONVIF database, and check the firmware on the box. What each profile means.

RTSP. We found no RTSP path in Hi-Focus's public pages, its datasheet or the ONVIF interface guide we read (checked 14 Oct 2026). For a listed model, the ONVIF media service returns the stream URI, so take the path from there.

What breaks in a factory

Buying Hi-Focus: what it means for procurement

Buyer Is BIS R-61006165 enough? What to ask the dealer
Private factory Yes for the CRO: the exact model must be on the R-number, which is valid to 22 Jul 2027 Label photo showing the R-number; exact suffix (DVK vs DVZK)
Government, PSU or EPC job under PPP-MII Not on its own; the tender usually asks for an STQC ER test report and Class-I/II local content STQC report number and date; local-content declaration
Any buyer integrating with another NVR or VMS BIS says nothing about interoperability ONVIF listing and firmware version for the exact model

Check any Hi-Focus quote line by line in the certificate checker or the certified camera finder. For every brand's R-numbers on one page, see BIS-registered CCTV brands A–Z; for which registrant makes which brand, see who makes India's certified CCTV cameras.

When to call the installer / what to ask the vendor

Call the installer when the quoted model string does not match the BIS list character for character, or when the firmware on the box differs from V24.12.260228.C2C3B7C5 and you need ONVIF. Ask the vendor for the STQC report reference before any public-sector order. For a contract running past 22 Jul 2027, ask how Hi-Focus plans to renew the registration.

Where Mama fits

Mama reads the cameras a factory already has over RTSP/ONVIF and tells the owner each morning where machines stood idle. For that, the ONVIF listing and stream access matter more than the brand. Leave an email or phone in the form below.

FAQ

Is Hi-Focus an Indian company? The BIS registration names HIFOCUS ELECTRONICS INDIA PVT LTD with a Chennai address (BIS CRS, checked 14 Oct 2026). Public registers do not show where components originate.

Are Hi-Focus cameras STQC certified? No Hi-Focus model appears on STQC's ER certificate list (checked 14 Oct 2026). Product pages cite an "STQC approved compliance report" without a number, so ask the dealer for it.

Do Hi-Focus cameras work with Hikvision or CP Plus NVRs? Only ONVIF gives a documented path. Fourteen of the 62 registered models have an exact ONVIF listing (Profiles G, M, S, T; ONVIF database, 14 Oct 2026). For the other 48, check on site.
