cert_scheme=STQC-ERandconfidence=primaryin the Mama cctv-models dataset: 223 model–certificate rows, 196 unique models. - ONVIF Conformant Products database, all products of the seven certificate holders' companies, conformance age "All", queried 7 Oct 2026 and every one of the 196 models re-queried through the same database search on 14 Oct 2026 (no change in listed/not listed). Exact model string match only. Where the dataset and the Declaration of Conformity PDF disagreed on profiles (two CP Plus models), the PDF was used.

ONVIF listing status by brand
Counts per the ONVIF database (re-checked 14 Oct 2026) joined to STQC ER certificates.
| Brand | STQC-ER models (count) | Listed on ONVIF (count) | Not listed (count) | Not listed, but datasheet claims ONVIF (count) | Listed with Profile M (count) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Prama | 58 | 56 | 2 | 2 | 50 |
| CP Plus | 45 | 34 | 11 | 11 | 11 |
| Sparsh | 43 | 35 | 8 | 2 | 34 |
| Matrix | 36 | 26 | 10 | 10 | 0 |
| Honeywell | 9 | 7 | 2 | 0 | 7 |
| Vicon | 3 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 3 |
| EQUUS | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| Total | 196 | 162 | 34 | 25 | 105 |
Matrix has no STQC-certified model with Profile M in its ONVIF listing, per the database re-checked 14 Oct 2026. Every listed Matrix model is S, T and G.
Which profiles the 162 listed models carry
| Profile | Listed models (count of 162) | What it covers, per onvif.org |
|---|---|---|
| S | 162 | Basic streaming; ONVIF is ending support (release) |
| T | 161 | Advanced streaming, H.264/H.265, motion and tamper events (Profile T) |
| G | 134 | Edge storage and retrieval (Profile G) |
| M | 105 | Metadata and events for analytics (Profile M) |
| Q | 1 | Quick setup; one Prama model, PT-NPZE5232IW-AP, tested 2021 |
The most common combination is S + T + G + M (89 models), then S + T + G (44), S + T + M (16) and S + T (11), per the database re-checked 14 Oct 2026. One model is listed for Profile S only: EQUUS EQSR-V04-FW-A, firmware V1.1.0. With Profile S being phased out, a Profile S–only camera is the one to question before buying.
Listing age: of 162 listings, 92 were tested in 2026, 59 in 2025, 4 in 2024, 1 in 2023, 1 in 2022 and 5 in 2021.
The 25 "datasheet says ONVIF, database says no" models
These models carry an STQC ER certificate and an ONVIF line on the official datasheet. Their exact model string was not found in the ONVIF database (re-checked 14 Oct 2026).
| Brand | Models (count) | Example | Closest listing found (not counted) |
|---|---|---|---|
| CP Plus | 11 | CP-UNC-TA41L6C-Q, datasheet "Profile S, G, T" | CP-UNC-TA41L6C-D-Q (different suffix) |
| Matrix | 10 | SATATYA MIBR80FL60CWP P2, family page claims "S, G, & T" | Same code without " P2", firmware 3.6.99, 2023 |
| Prama | 2 | PT-NC120D7-WNMS/AW(D2), claims S, G, T, M | None |
| Sparsh | 2 | SC-IL82DP-I(Z)(S), claims "S, G & T" | None |
Nine more unlisted models make no ONVIF claim on an official datasheet that could be found: six Sparsh, one EQUUS and two Honeywell. The Honeywell pair is a spelling issue: STQC ER/078 prints HC5OWB3R2/R3 with a letter O. ONVIF lists HC50WB3R2/R3 with a digit 0 (S, T, G, M), and the BIS CRS registered-models list also prints the digit. Matched on the digit, all nine Honeywell models are listed, as the Honeywell certified cameras page counts them; this audit keeps the STQC string, so it counts 7.
A near-miss is still a miss. ONVIF's FAQ says each model in a product family "must be tested, certified and listed individually" (Conformance FAQ, checked 14 Oct 2026).
Listed, but with fewer profiles than the datasheet
17 listed models claim Profile G on the datasheet, but their ONVIF listing has no G, per the database re-checked 14 Oct 2026. 14 are CP Plus Q/LQ-series, for example CP-UNC-TA21L3C-LQ, listed S, T only. Three are Prama, for example PT-NC320P1-WNM(D2), listed S, T, M.
The datasheet may describe features the camera has. ONVIF only vouches for what is in the listing.
Conformant vs "ONVIF supported"
- Only members can claim conformance. Only ONVIF members, excluding Observer members, can claim it, and only products registered in the database count as conformant (Conformance Process).
- The database is the authority. ONVIF calls its Conformant Products page "the authoritative source" for whether a product is conformant (Conformant Products).
- Using the spec is not conformance. Products "may use ONVIF specifications, but they may not claim to be ONVIF conformant" without the process. ONVIF names "ONVIF conformant" claims and profile symbols without it as false claims (same page).
- Firmware matters. Conformance is valid for the firmware version registered. The camera's firmware must match the listed version (Conformance FAQ).
So "ONVIF supported" on a datasheet means the vendor implemented something. "Listed on onvif.org" means that model, at that firmware, passed the test tool.
How to check a model on onvif.org
- Open onvif.org/conformant-products.
- Set "Do not show records older than" to the widest option. In the page code it starts at 3 years (checked 14 Oct 2026). Six Prama STQC-certified models were last tested in 2021–2022 and would be hidden by that default.
- Type the model string exactly as on the STQC certificate. Watch suffixes (-Q vs -LQ, " P2", (D1) vs (D2)) and O vs 0.
- Open the Declaration of Conformity PDF. Note the profiles and firmware version.
- Compare that firmware with the camera's web page or the NVR's device list.
- Claimed but missing? ONVIF takes reports through its improper conformance claim form.
Or start from the ONVIF/RTSP compatibility matrix tool.
Why it matters: NVR mixing and adding analytics
- Mixed brands. If the camera and the NVR are from different brands, ONVIF is usually the only common protocol. An unlisted camera may still work, but no ONVIF test proves it.
- Analytics on existing cameras. Profile M covers metadata and events for analytics (Profile M). 105 of 196 STQC-ER models are listed with M (as of 14 Oct 2026).
- Edge recording. If the plan relies on the camera's SD card during NVR or network outages, check that Profile G is in the listing, not just the datasheet. 134 models list G.
What breaks in a factory
- Firmware drift. A camera that is updated by the installer, or ships from a later batch, can run firmware different from the listing. Conformance then no longer applies to that unit.
- Suffix swaps on replacement. A dead unit replaced under AMC with a near-identical code (-Q for -LQ, or a code with " P2") may fall outside the listing. Per the ONVIF database re-checked 14 Oct 2026, 5 unlisted CP Plus and 10 unlisted Matrix STQC-ER models differ from a listed code only by a suffix (-Q/-LQ, an added -D, or " P2").
- Mixed batches on one NVR. Older and newer units of the "same" camera can carry different firmware. Check the firmware of each unit against the listing, not just one.
When to call the installer / what to ask the vendor
Ask for the ONVIF Declaration of Conformity PDF for the exact model on the STQC certificate, with its firmware. Ask which profiles are in that listing, not on the datasheet. In a tender, write "listed on onvif.org for Profile T (and G or M if needed) on the bid date" (tender template). For which certificate applies, see STQC ER vs BIS CRS.
Where Mama fits
Mama reads a factory's existing cameras over RTSP/ONVIF and tells the owner each morning where machines sat idle. Knowing which cameras are truly ONVIF-listed makes that connection simpler to plan. Leave an email or phone in the form below.
FAQ
How do I check if my IP camera is ONVIF conformant?
Search the exact model on onvif.org/conformant-products with the age filter widened, then open its Declaration of Conformity and match the firmware version. ONVIF says that database is the authoritative source.
Is an ONVIF logo on the datasheet enough?
No. ONVIF says products may use its specifications without being conformant, and a "conformant" claim needs a database listing. 25 STQC-ER models claim ONVIF on the datasheet but were not listed (as of 14 Oct 2026).
Does an STQC certificate mean the camera is ONVIF compliant?
No. The STQC ER certificate covers security requirements. 34 of 196 STQC-ER models had no exact ONVIF listing on 14 Oct 2026.
