STQC-Certified Cameras by Type and Resolution: Brand × Bullet/Dome/PTZ Table

By The Mama Editorial Team · Factory-floor cameras, India compliance & operations

As of 25 Oct 2026, 178 STQC-certified camera models hold an unexpired ER certificate: 79 bullets, 59 domes, 13 PTZ, 7 turrets and 20 others. Per the certificate PDFs and vendor datasheets (checked 15 Oct 2026), only CP Plus (9), Prama (10) and Sparsh (1) have a certified 4 MP bullet.

Last checked: 15 Oct 2026. By the Mama Editorial Team. Download every row with its source: /static/data/stqc-certified-cameras-by-type-resolution.csv (196 models, including 18 with a lapsed certificate).

This page answers one buyer question: what form factor and resolution can a tender ask for and still get a certified camera? For which of these models are on the ONVIF conformant list, see the STQC ONVIF listing audit.

Prama is the only brand with a certified turret: seven models, 2 MP and 6 MP, on ER/060 and ER/102. Sparsh holds 9 of the 13 certified PTZ models, all on ER/005, valid to 26 May 2027.

"I need a 4 MP certified bullet for a tender — who has one?"

Brand Certified 4 MP bullets (models) Example model Certificate, valid to
Prama 10 PT-NC340P1-N(D2) ER/065, 9 Sep 2028
CP Plus 9 CP-UNC-TA41L3C-Q ER/023, 22 Jun 2028
Sparsh 1 SC-IND43BP-I(Z)(S) ER/040, 13 Aug 2028
Matrix, Honeywell, Vicon, EQUUS 0 — —

If the tender reads "4 MP or above", 5 MP bullets add Matrix (6 models) and Honeywell (3), per the Matrix family pages and the "5MP Bullet Camera" nomenclature on Honeywell STQC ER/079 (checked 15 Oct 2026). To filter by your own lens or IR range, use the Certified CCTV Finder, then check the exact string in the certificate checker.

Where brands differ

"4 MP" does not mean the same pixel count across brands. CP Plus 4 MP datasheets list 2688 × 1520 effective pixels, for example CP-UNC-TA41L3C-Q. Sparsh's "4MP Dome" spec page for SC-IND41DP lists 2560 × 1920. Sparsh's 4 MP wedge SC-IND42BP lists 2560 × 1440.

Sparsh labels the same model differently on different pages. SS-EN412P-I appears on a "4MP PTZ Camera" page with 2560 × 1920 and on a "5MP PTZ Camera" page with 2592 × 1944 (both sparshsecuritech.com, checked 15 Oct 2026). That model is left without an MP class here.

Sparsh's certificate and spec page can also disagree. The Sparsh "5MP Bullet Camera" page lists SC-IND41BP with 2616 × 1964 effective pixels, while STQC ER/040, which certifies that model, prints "2MP & 4MP Resolutions" as its major attributes (both checked 15 Oct 2026). SC-IND41BP is therefore also left without an MP class.

Matrix publishes no 4 MP class: its certified bullets, domes and mini cameras come in 2 MP, 5 MP (2592 × 1944) and 8 MP (3840 × 2160), per the Matrix family pages.

Certificate and datasheet can name a different body. STQC ER/70 prints "Mobile Camera" for CP-UNC-VC81L5C-VMD-LQ; the CP Plus datasheet calls it an 8MP Dual Light Vandal Dome. It is counted as a dome.

In a tender, write the pixel count (for example "minimum 2560 × 1440") rather than "4 MP".

Gaps and lapsed certificates

The dataset had a resolution for 79 of 196 models and a form factor for 173. Gaps were filled only from the certificate's own nomenclature (for example "Full HD" on Prama ER/009) or an official datasheet: 100 resolutions and 16 form factors. Each fill carries its URL in the CSV column filled_from.

15 valid models still have no single published resolution and 7 no published type (checked 15 Oct 2026). Sparsh ER/039 and ER/040 print no per-model nomenclature, only certificate-wide classes ("5MP & 4K" on ER/039, "2MP & 4MP" on ER/040), and no spec page for six of their models was found on sparshsecuritech.com (checked 15 Oct 2026). EQUUS has no product pages on its own site.

Sparsh certificates ER/001 and ER/004 expired on 5 Sep 2026, per the printed date. Their 18 models, including all six Sparsh box cameras, are excluded from the counts above. All 18 still appear on the BIS CRS ER list under R-83005371, valid to 24 Jun 2028 (read 9 Oct 2026).

STQC says its network-camera list "is no longer being updated and is retained solely for historical reference" (STQC, checked 15 Oct 2026). Newer models appear only on BIS CRS; the STQC ER vs BIS CRS explainer covers why.

What breaks in a factory

When to call the installer / what to ask the vendor

Ask for the STQC certificate number and the BIS R-number for the exact model string, suffix included. Ask for the datasheet's effective pixel count. If the certificate shows an expiry date before your delivery date, ask for the BIS registration instead.

Where Mama fits

Mama reads a factory's existing cameras over RTSP/ONVIF and sends the owner a short morning note on machine idle time and lost hours; any of the types above can feed it (askthemama.com). To get a camera plan for your floor, leave an email or phone in the form below.

FAQ

Is STQC certification mandatory for CCTV cameras in India?

For network CCTV cameras sold in India, ER compliance is enforced through BIS registration under the Compulsory Registration Order. STQC now issues ER test reports for that route; its old certificates stay valid until the printed date. Details are in the STQC ER vs BIS CRS explainer.

How do I check if a CCTV camera is STQC certified?

Open the certificate PDF on stqc.gov.in and find the exact model string, suffix included, and the expiry date. The certificate checker runs the same lookup by model string.

Which brands have STQC-certified cameras?

Seven: Prama, CP Plus, Sparsh, Matrix, Honeywell, Vicon and EQUUS, per the STQC certificates (checked 15 Oct 2026).
