Factory CCTV Cost by Area: 20,000, 50,000 and 1,00,000 sq ft (₹, 2026)
On 14 Oct 2026 listing prices and this page's labelled assumptions, an IP CCTV build with about 30 days of recording costs roughly ₹1.94 lakh for 20,000 sq ft (16 cameras), ₹5.05 lakh for 50,000 sq ft (38 cameras) and ₹9.38 lakh for 1,00,000 sq ft (73 cameras), excluding 18% GST: about ₹9.4–10.1 per sq ft before installer margin.

- FG Tech Store dealer pages for cameras, NVRs, drives, switches and cable, linked per row below. Each page prints the GST-inclusive price and the ex-tax price. The ratio between them is 1.18 (18% GST).
- IndiaMART service listings for camera installation labour, linked in the table. These pages do not say whether GST is included.
- The STQC ER and BIS CRS lists, via our certified-model dataset (7–9 Oct 2026). All four camera models priced here appear on the BIS CRS list; search any model in the certified CCTV finder.
- Checked 14 Oct 2026.
- No listing was found for conduit, junction boxes or cable-laying labour, so those are a labelled assumption. No certified NVR model is in our dataset, so the NVR rows are not on an ER list we checked.
The budget table
Unit prices are ex-GST, one dated listing per line (labour: GST treatment not stated on the listing). "A" marks an assumption, not a listing. Every quantity in the three size columns comes from the assumptions explained below the table, so quantities are assumptions too.

How the camera count was set
The count is a labelled assumption built from a vendor figure, not a rule.
- One camera's reach. CP Plus's datasheet gives the 2.8 mm version of CP-UNC-DA21L3C-Q a 101° horizontal view and an 18.2 m DORI "Observe" distance. A 101° sector with an 18.2 m radius covers about 292 m², or about 3,140 sq ft.
- Usable share (A). Racking, machines, columns and deliberate overlap waste part of that sector. We assume half is usable, so about 1,500 sq ft per floor camera.
- Floor cameras. 20,000 ÷ 1,500 rounds up to 14; 50,000 gives 34; 1,00,000 gives 67.
- Gates and docks (A). 2, 4 and 6 bullet cameras, one per assumed opening.
The dome listed on FG Tech is the 3.6 mm default lens. The datasheet gives that lens 86° and 21.0 m Observe, a similar area. A floor counted zone by zone, as in how many cameras a factory floor needs, will differ from this. Use the count to size a budget, not to place cameras.
What sets the other lines
- NVR. The CP-UNR-4K4322-V4 page lists 32 channels and "Dual 20TB HDD Support". Two units cover 38 cameras and three cover 73. A 64-channel CP-UNR-4K5648-V2 is listed at ₹52,457 ex-GST but was out of stock on 14 Oct 2026.
- Drives (A). We assume H.265 at an average 2,048 Kbps per camera. That is about 22.1 GB per camera per day, by arithmetic. The datasheet allows H.265 from 3 to 6,144 Kbps, so real use can be far higher or lower. Read your own bitrate and use the storage calculator or the 4 TB days table.
- Switches (A). One 16-port switch per about 12 cameras, placed near each cluster to keep runs short. The datasheet's 4.2 W maximum PoE draw means 16 domes need about 67 W, well inside the switch's listed 300 W. Check any other model with the PoE budget calculator.
- Cable (A). Average run per camera of 40, 50 and 60 m as the shed grows, plus 80 m per switch uplink. Metres are divided by 305 and rounded up to whole boxes.
- Labour (A). On 14 Oct 2026, four IndiaMART installation listings ran from ₹150 per piece (Indore) through ₹300 (Solan; Kochi service area, seller based in Kalyan) to ₹350 (Delhi). The table uses the highest, ₹350, as an assumption that factory work at height costs more; no listing states that.
How much the total can move
- Cameras. On 14 Oct 2026, an IndiaMART listing for the same CP-UNC-DA21L3C-Q dome showed ₹2,000 per piece (Indore), and one for the BIS-registered Prama PT-NC123D3-WNM(D2) 2MP turret showed ₹4,350 per piece (Mannar, Kerala). Neither listing says whether GST is included. If ₹4,350 is ex-GST (A), swapping all 67 domes from ₹2,753 adds about ₹1.07 lakh to the 1,00,000 sq ft build; if it includes GST, about ₹0.63 lakh.
- Drives are the swing line. At 50,000 sq ft, storage is ₹1.43 lakh, more than all 38 cameras together (₹1.07 lakh). Halving retention, or the bitrate, removes roughly half of it.
- Cable grade. The outdoor D-Link Cat6 box is listed at ₹16,101 ex-GST against ₹11,948 for indoor, about 35% more per box.
- Not in the table. UPS, monitor, rack, surge protection, fibre uplinks, design, commissioning and installer margin. A turnkey quote adds these. Our installation cost per camera guide breaks them down per camera.
Where brands differ
Prama prices land close to CP Plus on these pages. The PT-NC123D3-N(D2) 2MP turret is listed at ₹3,177 ex-GST, and the 16-channel PT-NRAS2A16-K2 NVR at ₹10,635. Several Prama 32-channel NVR pages showed "out of stock" on 14 Oct 2026. Check any model string with the certificate checker before you buy. A changed suffix can mean an uncertified variant.
What breaks in a factory
- Heat. The datasheet rates the dome for –40 °C to +60 °C. Under a metal roof in May, check the air temperature at mounting height, not on the floor.
- Dust. IP67 is rated on the datasheet. Lenses still need cleaning, which is an AMC line, not a parts line.
- Power cuts. Cameras on PoE go dark when the switch loses power. The table has no UPS line, so add one for each switch and NVR.
- Long sheds. The dome's Ethernet port is 10/100 Base-T per the datasheet. The dealer page for the CP Plus switch says its extended mode reaches "up to 250m at 10Mbps on Ports 1–15", a slower link than normal. For very long runs, plan a switch closer to the cameras or a fibre uplink, which changes the switch count.
When to call the installer / what to ask the vendor
Ask for a quote with the exact model strings, the BIS R-number, the drive model and TB, the cable metres and grade, and GST shown separately. Ask what bitrate and retention the drives were sized for. If a quote is far above ₹10 per sq ft, ask which lines outside this table explain the gap.
Where Mama fits
Mama reads a factory's existing cameras over RTSP/ONVIF and reports machine idle time to the owner. Mama can also draw a camera plan for your floor, with counts by type, before you buy. Leave an email or phone in the form below.
FAQ
What is the CCTV cost per square foot for a factory in India?
On 14 Oct 2026 listing prices, the parts-and-labour build in this table comes to ₹9.4–10.1 per sq ft ex-GST at all three sizes, under the assumptions labelled (A) on this page. Installer margin, UPS, design and commissioning come on top.
How many cameras do I need for a 50,000 sq ft factory?
Under the assumptions on this page, about 34 floor cameras plus 4 at gates and docks, 38 in total. A zone-by-zone count of your real layout can be higher or lower.
Why does the hard disk cost so much?
Retention drives it. At an assumed 2,048 Kbps, each camera writes about 22 GB a day, so 30 days for 38 cameras needs about 25 TB.
